Galaxy4Peace Participates International Day of Peace #100DaysCountDown #2015

By admin on June 16, 2015

Galaxy4Peace is excited to participate in this year’s   100day countdown to the International Day of Peace. International Day of Peace seeks to promote peace in:  states, countries, nations and peoples.  In 1981,  the United Nations specifically set aside a day to commemorate the Peace-day, and the went further  and declared it a permanent holiday in 2002. This year’s peace-day aims to  demonstrate the importance of the spirit of cooperation as  people come together – a partnership to further create and advocate for a more sustaining enabling environment for a culture of peace. We are glad that peace still prevails,  , which is evident and can be felt in the numerous peace projects all over the world, despite the many difficulties and conflicts that abound.
As citizens who are conscious of the challenging

times the world faces, , we need to continue participating  by taking up shared responsibilities,  to wisely construct and build our collapsed environment for a better world for all.  We must confess, it does not get better than this as peace-builders!

Let’s note that as we countdown to this day, one of the values of a “count-down” is to be more thoughtful and engaged in the theme, also to showcase  what peace  means to us as we get closer to the day of celebration. As we plan our events and continue  working for reigns of peace culture in the world over, may we continually experience #LivingPeace instead of answering the question: #IsPeacePossible?

It is time for the human heart to move beyond violence into a new culture of peace. Let that be the goal of the International Day of Peace as we stand together around the world for “Partnerships for Peace – Dignity for All”
In closing, I would like  to share the #100DaysCountdown to #PeaceDay message of the General Secretary of the United Nations Ban Kii-Moon

Secretary-General’s 100-day Countdown Message

13 June 2015
Every year on the International Day of Peace, the United Nations calls on the people of the world to reaffirm their commitment to living in harmony as members of a single human family.
This year’s commemoration, “Partnerships for Peace — Dignity for All”, highlights the importance of cooperation in silencing the guns and advancing the cause. Without the support of governments, civil society, the private sector, faith-based groups and non-governmental organizations, peace will remain elusive.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of the United Nations as well as a transition to a new global sustainable development agenda and meaningful action on climate change.
Over the next 100 days, let us stand with the millions of people across the world who are suffering the devastating impact of violence and conflict. Let us share ideas and plans for helping and supporting them in their time of dire need.
Together, as “partners for peace”, we can achieve a world of peace, prosperity and dignity for all.
Ban Ki-moon
